I started drawing again one evening after an intensive period of working on Apple Mac computers and after a good couple of years not really doing much drawing whatsoever. This collection is the result. I started by semi-doodling and not knowing exactly what I was drawing, instead letting graphic shapes, forms and shading dictate the work. I set myself the task of ten A4 pieces, each crafted over a period of 8 to 10 hours. What I noticed I was doing was creating mind drawings whereby the hand creates the work whilst the mind lazily watches; it was an interesting process. Music was integral to the creation of all the peices; I would listen to all kinds of music, much of it influencing the peices and reflecting my state of mind at the time. The very first drawing (#01 which my mate Mickey JC owns) was created whilst listening to the track ‘The Garden of My Mind’ by The Mickey Finn – its sentiments seemed to match what I was trying to acheive without really knowing what I wanted to achive. The next stage for this collection is a futher ten drawings made using coloured pencils.
